Outreach: it is what is says…reach out to your community, to life – and allow life to reflect back to you – your caring, generosity, and love.
It’s post world cup soccer 2010, and wouldn’t it be wonderful to keep the gees alive, that sense of global spirit experienced by so many during the soccer event period?
Well, I for one, like to believe that we can.
And I know that I am not alone in this thinking.
So, in the spirit of walking my talk, I would like to highlight in the pages that follow :
LEADSA – an organization promoting ongoing community spirit; followed by some organizations, caring for children actually, who might benefit from our outreach.
Do follow the LEADSA website link for some wonderful inspiration, and feel free to keep the gees alive.
LEADSA
Excerpt from Cape Argus Wed Sept 1st 2010 :
‘Campaign inspires citizens to lead change…South Africans take to heart pledge to stand up and do right thing for community and country.
“LeadSA is quickly becoming a wave of social change in which South Africans are actively creating a vibrant society, not through complaining or criticizing, but through making positive changes in their own behaviour. Every day I hear someone’s story about the change that they’ve made in their life and it brings a smile to my heart.”‘
Help the rural child
Excerpt from ‘Help the rural child’ website :
Poverty in rural South Africa is still widespread and children born into poor families often suffer from so many disadvantages – poor health, poor diet, substandard housing, alcohol and drug abuse, inadequate parenting, lack of stimulation, domestic violence.
We believe strongly that a holistic programme that supports children and families through inter-connected projects is the best way to go. That is why we are helping to build and maintain Rural youth Centres, where children and families can learn and grow together.
